about
My Little Baby is a song written out of a time spent pondering how the Majestic Creator could confine Himself to become, at one point, the size of a single human cell.
This piece is imaginatively written from Joseph’s perspective; a human father trying to grasp the collision of grandeur & grit he sees lying in his arms, the incredible extremes held within the tiny baby gifted to him from heaven. The scope of the lyrics range from the miniscule to the immense, the dingy and the destiny, whilst the chords underpin the lyrics in a humble and simple way - a father’s joy.
The video hopes to convey a sense of happening upon Joseph in his reminiscence, watching the baby-blanketed bedroom as if through a portal.
Enjoy the magnitude, the mercy and the miracle of the Little Baby this Christmas.

lyrics
When You were small, You wept and cried,
The tummy rumble You felt inside,
Your pang of hunger, Your tired eyes,
My little baby
Your mother’s breast kept You warm and fed,
The creaky manger that made Your bed,
I remember one hand could hold Your precious head,
My little baby
Stars aligned to put You in our care,
The hosts of heaven sing Your praise up there,
The whole world holds its breath,
But I must confess,
You’re still my little baby
When You were small, You held inside,
A mystery of epic size,
Your destiny, upon a cross You’ll die,
My little baby
The angels came to us and said,
The Messiah will come as a babe instead,
Of a warrior king, no army had You lead,
My little baby
Who would have known that our Saviour was,
To show us how to be a human first,
By crying out at night,
With little fists held tight,
You’re still my little baby.
And as the decades flew on by,
The babe became man and filled his Dad with pride.
I know You came to do God’s will,
Nevertheless, You were my best, my little baby still,
And now You rule from heaven above,
But it’s amazing to think You started as my babe in arms!
The King of love,
Was once my little baby.
